Materials:
Mod podge
Glue
Button
Image
Scissors

Instructions

Print off the image you want in the size of your button.
Glue the image onto the button- the mod podge could work for this but hot glue or guerrilla glue is recommended.
Put on a few layers of mod podge (mod podge is always helpful to have around)
NOTE: mod podge is water soluble do not get wet

Paint around the edges if you need to.

This was super easy! Just follow the instructions on my next link for the Chinese staircase, and do it!
I would recommend doing it with headphones that aren’t apple headphones.
The good news is that embroidery floss is only 35 cents a color! Cheap cheap cheap!

Project!
So I haven’t found any pictures of inspiration for this one yet, so I’ll just write about it.
I’m in musical theatre. I want to go I to musical theatre, I love it so much. So I’m going to make a collage of my theatre goals. I have two types of goals first- roles I want to play/shows I want to be in, and second- theatres where I want to perform. This is going to be fun because I’ll get to spend some time really thinking about my dreams, and then searching them online.

Crayon Stained Glass

Materials:

Wax Paper
Crayons
Iron
Scissors or X-acto Knife
Pencil sharpener.
Yarn

Instructions:

1. Cut two pieces of wax paper.

2. Lay down the first piece of wax paper.

3. Shave crayons onto wax paper.
*Note: you can do them thick or thin, in all different colors, or in one color family, or all the colors of the rainbow. Totally up to you.

4. Put second piece of wax paper on top, and iron them until the stick together. IRON ON LOW, and follow with your fingers to press down.

5. Use scissors or x-acto knife to cut out shapes after the wax has hardened. You may have to re-iron the smaller shapes to make them stick

6. Use scissors or x-acto knife to punch small holes and thread with yarn.

All done!

X-acto Knifes

A really quick note on X-Acto knifes. Practice with them a lot. They are touch to get used to, so definitely work with them before you use then on what you want to be your final product. Watch your fingers, and change your blade regularly. Most importantly though. Practice, practice, practice. Practice curves and cutting in straight lines.

Scrapbooking Paper

Scrapbooking paper is a really, really good investment. I bought a whole bunch a few months ago, and I’ve since used it to make cards, the flower mirrors, and another junk mail art. I intend to use it to make decorated lanterns, and dry erase picture frames. I’m sure as I go, I’ll find even more uses for my scrapbooking paper. It is really, really useful to have a few pads of it, so I’d suggest going out and buying some from Michael’s. The cost will diffuse itself across products as you go along. So it’s definitely worth it.

How I Made My “Junk Mail Art”

Materials:
Old magazines
Scissors
X-acto knife
2 pieces of posterboard any size
Glue stick
Tacky glue.

Instructions:

1. Cut up magazine strips. Use lots of color or no color however you want to do it.

2. Paste (with glue stick) them onto posterboard one in any way. You can put them all in one direction or all in different directions.

3. Decide what you want your poster to say/be. Trace it on to posterboard two. Then cut it out with x-acto knife.

4. Use tacky glue to glue posterboard two onto posterboard one.

5. Use scissors and x-acto knife to trim.

Junk Mail Art :

What I’m working on now. Mine’s going to have pictures of music notes. That was the winner. I was also toying around with writing “Smile” and ” dance” and “sing” and “Perform”
